The Political Debate on Immigration in the UK between 2010-2015

This thesis focuses on the political debate surrounding immigration, especially in the two prominent political parties in Great Britain - the Labour Party and the Conservative Party. Its main timeframe is between 2010 and 2015, however to fully contextualise the issue some earlier data is used. This text analyses the pre-election debate of the main political parties in the United Kingdom. It looks at immigration as a topic in their manifestos and during pre-election talks. The thesis aims to map the change in approach of the main political parties during the time when they switched positions as government and opposition.

Evaluation of migration flows of the inhabitants of the town Prachatice and its hinterland

The thesis is focused on evaluation of physical mobility in population of an urban migration area of the town of Prachatice in the period from 1992 to 2013. The first part of this thesis is theoretical, focusing particularly on explanation of basic terms related to migration. The second part is focused on the definition of the urban migration area of Prachatice and an analysis its fundamental geographical characteristics like physical-geographic, social geographic and demographic characteristics. In the third part is the main focus of this thesis, an analysis of an urban migration area of Prachatice, migration flows between the town and its hinterland, movements of migrants in this area and influence on urbanization processes. Source data for this analysis is anonymised database of migrants of the South Bohemia Region.

Migration of the population of České Budějovice City and its hinterland

The presented bachelor thesis deals with monitoring migration movements of the population of České Budějovice City and its hinterland from 1992 till 2012. The first part of the thesis is structured theoretically, focusing particularly on explanation of basic terms related to migration. The following chapter describes the city location, arrangement and hinterland, presenting its socioeconomic and demographic characteristics at the same time. An update on the number of municipalities in the migration region and its boundaries according to the current migration data makes a part of the chapter. The main focus of the thesis is put on the development of migration flow between the city and its hinterland, not only with respect to the migration itself, but from the point of view of urbanization processes as well.

Migration of the population of South Bohemia in 2010

This bachelor´s thesis is dealing with population migration moves on internal, external and foreign level of migration in the South Bohemian Region in year 2010. The main part of work evaluates the migration balance and in special chapter analyzes regional administrative centre of Southern Bohemia. The thesis also examines migrational bindings on the case of inhabitants migration within the region. External migrational flows of inhabitants are evaluated separately, both within Czech Republic and foreign countries. The work contains structural analysis of migrants according to sex and age. Region is characterized from the social-geographic and demographic viewpoint.

Migration of the population of South Bohemia

The bachelor thesis deals with the internal, external and in part also with international migration of the South Bohemian region in years 2005 ? 2009. The region is characterized by its physico ? geographic, demographic and socio ? economic aspects. The thesis concisely analyzes the migration developement of the Czech Republic and also the region of South Bohemia. The main chapter evaluates the balance of migration, migration flows, and sex and age structure of migrants. Each part of this thesis and its analyzed issues are supplemented by cartographic, table and graphic Annex.

Further, an urban migration area of Kaplice is defined and analysed as well as its fundamental geographical characteristics like physical-geographic, social geographic and demographic characteristics. The thesis analyses the balance of migration, reasons for migration and also structural indicators of migration by demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the given region.
